CHAPIN - A memorial service for Harold J. Dickinson, 84, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Inurnment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 402, PO Box 8794, Columbia, SC 29202.

Mr. Dickinson was born November 2, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY and passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He was a son of the late Carlos Charles Dickinson and Mary Hambley Dickinson. Mr. Dickinson was a retired soldier, having proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was awarded two Purple Hearts.
Mr. Dickinson is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty W. Dickinson; daughter, Beth Littlefield (Julie) of Woodruff; granddaughters, Ashley Broome (Michael), Caitlin Lapkiewicz (Steven), Andrea Riggott; sister, Glorianne Dickinson and, beloved dog, Princess. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard E. Dickinson.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
